Makandal, Jeremie, Haiti is one of the poorest neighborhoods in the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Built on a dump, garbage is everywhere.
Housing is terrible. Homes are shacks with woven mats for walls, without roofs and doors, with dirt floors. The floors turn to mud when it rains, as water and raw sewage flow down the streets and into the houses.

In May, 2010, a group of people from Makandal approached the Haitian Health Foundation asking for help to replace homes in the area.

The Haitian Health Foundation (HHF) is now helping to rebuild Makandal one home at a time.
Ten homes have been built to date with another twenty five planned. The difference in the homes is astounding.

The St Timothy Outreach Committee is reaching out to you and asking for your support and donation of money to help HHF with this rebuilding – one home, one family at a time.

On the weekend of April 9th and 10th, we will be collecting money to raise $4,800, the cost of building one home. This money will be given to HHF for the express purpose of funding a Makandal Home for a Family.

Together, we can make a difference in the life of one family in Makandal, Jeremie, Haiti.
